So do I Cotton. A little corn meal white flour and sugar. I didn't know it was called Yankee Corn Bread. I won't tell anyone on you if you don't tell on me. I understand most here like the other kind.
That’s what the locals in Tennessee call it. I made the mistake of telling a friend that that’s how I make mine and she looked shocked. And then proceeded to tell me how her great-grandmother and grandmother and mother made cornbread. I took the hint and didn’t say anything more :-)
They use 100% corneal, no sugar. And I have to say it was pretty dry. But it did work really good in the beans she made. My cornbread would probably just dissolved but hers held up to it. But if I was just going to snack on cornbread, I prefer my Yankee cornbread, with honey butter!
