The track must have been a little short., or maybe it was “just” an equipment failure. Top fuel dragsters hit 300 mph, too. But, their chutes are supposed work.
Pity. I hope they figure out what happened, to make it less likely in the future.

The article says this was an eighth mile (1/8 mile = 660 feet) track.
