Why disagree? I have to assume you are not naïve.
The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. You and I would probably do exactly what 2nd did. And we too would be fired as well.
I would argue that - if there was a next time - and you persisted in “singling” out black for extra attention, you would face even more problems.
