Of course, they are Americans. I'm an American too. But I will be lost to history as will most of them, except mostly for the trouble makers. Pretending otherwise is part of the reason we are in the trouble we are in now. (In fact, non-trouble makers like Booker T. Washington, are already lost to history.)

As I remarked in my “bilge,”

It has been remarked that people don’t rebel when they are repressed, but when they stop being oppressed. The trouble we have with “Black Lives Matter” might best be understood in that perspective.

We didn’t have “Black Lives Matter” (meaning, white lives don’t matter) when the blacks were “in their place” as recently as the 1950s.

I thought this was about blacks who made some significant contribution to American History, you paean to BLM notwithstanding.
