What business is it of the government?
is it dirty money now
Interesting. Show us your train of thought about how the Constitution supports confiscating cash from private citizens. It must be some indirect way, as through laws passed by congress (I'm guessing).
Just declare it all and you are free to export it to terrorist overseas...millions of $.
Please cite statute
The Constitution has no prohibition against carrying money in your underwear.
Wheres your head?
Im confused. What was the crime?
Money Loindering
Shoe money is bad enough ...
Perjury on a customs declaration
If you stack the cash, that co-aligns a special currency STRIP (you can confirm by holding $100’s up to light).
Thusly aligned, the stack returns a special type of emitted pulse to a detector; they KNOW you have the cash before they ask.
I remember there’s something you can put between a certain number of bills so that they do not return the pulse.
The $100’s from 8 or so years ago and older didn’t do this.
What was the crime?
Taking bucks out of season
Wrong discussion
Were they smuggling it in or out of the USA?
The money in the underwear is not a crime.
They actually had $20,000 US and $2,000 Canadian. More than $10,000 transported by people traveling together must be reported.
This made me wonder how much money someone could put in their underwear, but I guess that depends.
What was the crime?
Hidden assets
yup... Since the confirmation by American officials that the bonds were counterfeit, some reactions have shifted to taking note of a general loss of confidence in international banking and finance
wonder how true that is? you don’t pass off bonds like that to just anybody. SOMEBODY must of thought they were real
Hmmm...money sewn in underwear?
No relation to Ted or Raphael Cruz, though, right?
