Women who fall over with a heart attack may be left unaided as men are too afraid to give CPR in case they are accused of sexual assault.
Researchers from the University of Colorado surveyed people on their attitudes in the wake of the #MeToo movement.
Interviewees said (among other things) that they feared being accused of inappropriate touching or sexual assault, the researchers found.
Men were twice as likely to cite this fear as a reason for not administering CPR, the researchers found.

The snake bite scene from “Bananas” suddenly just popped into my mind.
Im not trying to be vindictive. By when you follow feminist extremism, you reap what you sow.
What do you mean wait until theyre a real thing? They just opened a sex robot brothel in Helsinki.
What if a lesbian gives CPR???? Or a gay guy???
"Still, I would probably take a hard look and guess if she were a feminist and take a pass if I had good reason to beleive that she was."
I recently read a First Aid guide on AED use. It said to check for an underwire bra and if present remove it before using an AED.
Very sound advice but I could just imagine how that would go.
"...CPR..."
That's because they are exempted from any and all charges of sexual harassment. Everything they do is a-ok with the #metoo crowd.
The respiratory appliance is to protect the EMT, or person giving mouth to mouth.
First it’s from communicable disease, secondly, if the victim is resuscitated, I understand it’s very common for them to aspirate (vomit) immediately.
Let them sort it out. The chances are a woman wouldnt sue a man for saving her life. But these days there is still an outside chance as opposed to the past.
I last took CPR about 35 years ago. There was no mention of exposing bare skin to administer CPR. That is weird. I cannot see why compressions through clothing or on bare skin would make any difference at all. You are compressing the rib cage and that works fine through clothes. Well, maybe not heavy padded winter coats, but anything lightweight would be fine, I would think.
What? women in the USA expect men to give them CPR?........I'm aghast. Will they need a chaperone, video monitor, written contract, indemnity and a prosecuting lawyer present at the CPR event? What a messed up country the USA is.
If the “woman” were a known man-hating litigation machine, I’d just pray fervently... but attempt CPR? No effing way.
So your first check will be the armpits?
May I steal that for a tagline?
“Uh huh. They also have a great big truck in which to carry all that stuff around.”
Reminds me of one of my CPR classes; lady asks how much is an AED. Off duty fireman instructor says, you don’t need to buy one. Just call us and we’ll bring you one.
If you have your lawyer on speed-dial, it would shave off a few seconds.
Without a doubt. It corrodes the soul to nothingness. I lived in China for the better part of a year right after Mao died. Totally agree.
No rescue breathing.
