Always scratched my head how this guy even got on a NFL roster. It was not like he was lighting things up when he was at Tennessee or Pitt.

The thing is he clearly played the best of the three options during preseason. Some guys just seem to shine in practice or preseason but not in the real game. Other guys don’t show much in practice then crank it up for the game.
Peterman seems like a decent guy, maybe he can catch on in the CFL.

I think Joe Montana was that way.

It comes the same day coach Sean McDermott said he was "still confident" in Peterman. The 171st pick in last year's draft, Peterman was dubbed a sleeper pick at the time but went on to be anything but competent in his brief time in Buffalo. The 24-year-old made eight appearances in 1.5 seasons with the Bills, starting four games, going 1-3 with a historically-bad 3:12 TD:INT mark, throwing an interception on 9.2% of his passes. It's pretty telling that longtime borderline NFLer Matt Barkley joined the Bills less than two weeks ago and immediately looked like a Hall of Famer compared to Peterman. We'd bet he eventually gets another shot and a much needed change of scenery. He'll never develop into a starter with long odds of becoming even a No. 2. Pretty harsh.
I don't follow this stuff so I don't know how bad he was but it must be pretty devastating to eviscerated publicly.
Regardless of how bad he may have been I feel bad for him.
I hope he finds his true calling.

What did he do? Refuse to kneel for the Anthem?

What did he do? Refuse to kneel for the Anthem? No. He doesn't have any felony convictions.

His last start was maybe his best, and there were still 3 interceptions (2 were the fault of the receivers, though). He could still end up on the practice squad, but I doubt they'll keep him around.

For what it's worth. Wikipedia:
The younger son of a pastor, Peterman credits his Christian faith in helping him face adversity. He is married to Morgan Peterman (maiden name Shull), his college girlfriend from Tennessee.

No surprise. He has way more interceptions than touchdowns. Almost as many interceptions as completions. It’s not as if they didn’t give him an opportunity. And since Barkley played well yesterday.... Good luck to him.

The 171st pick in last year's draft, Peterman was dubbed a sleeper pick at the time....A sleeper pick who never woke up. Not like Ryan Leaf or many other high picks who flamed out. As the 171st pick a team is not taking a big risk.
Drafting is a very inexact science. One never knows how any of these guys are going to work out. So many can't-miss prospects are gone within a couple of years whereas late rounders grow into HoFers (see Tom Brady).
Good luck to Nathan Peterman.

Kapernick wants more money than he is worth, not even counting the distracting drama he generates.

For starters, he threw more picks than TD’s. That’s not going to help you keep a job.

This is a pretty harsh review of Peterman by the Bills.
No offensive line and barely a training camp to catch up to the speed of the NFL game.
We're not talking a generational talent like Darnold or Wentz, after all.
