My first impression reading the story was that Douglass would be deeply disappointed and dismayed that this happened in a school with his name.
It seems entirely likely Douglass, if asked, would opine that despite our best intentions we have created an environment for Blacks that encourages some of them to behave consistent with their tribal instincts; that in fact, we have nurtured a return for them to that lifestyle.
IMO, R's need to deprive the left's use of Blacks as a tool and take the lead in developing groups of strong, patriotic Black leaders in each community. It is not enough we have "invited" Blacks in, we must support their effective assimilation. Many would be grateful and no longer reflexively support D's.
