Even if she doesn’t resign, what I hope it means is that she can’t attend court sessions for a good long time, and so can’t vote on those sessions she misses. With a previous absence on the court, it was 4-4. Anything she misses is 3-5.
The attending is key part - even when she does appear her clerks are writing everything for her.
