Never gave hating or loving Jews much thought.
Maybe because I had a lot of blue collar working class Jewish friends from my teens onward.
Some of the nicest parents I ever met, those kids had. And warm. Like Italians. Maybe that’s why we got along so well.
From Staten Island in case any are wondering where this melting pot was :)
A lot of Jewish and Italian friends from here and from parts of Brooklyn.
And let me tell you, NONE were liberal. Maybe moderate, but NOT liberal.
Jews have done exceedingly well through lots of studying and hard work in school.
They have the highest average income and sometimes wealth drives you to forget the values you once had, for ANY group.
A lot easier to be liberal for ANYONE when they are worth a lot, than when they are in the trenches with us.
Perhaps success is to explain, ironically, for the Jewish vote going predominantly D.
Anyway, we got along great and even let some Irish in our group.
But just a few :)
We need all white ethnicity and religions to stick together because of the race riots at the time too.
I had two business partners that were Jewish, and I learned A LOT. One was moderately religious...the other worshipped cash. Both decent guys.
