1. There needs to be SOME mechanism that to SOME degree holds the media personnel--particularly say the top 10-20% watched/read/listened to--to a high standard of truth or at least vetted sources.

So, whomever happens to be in power at any given time gets to decide what speech falls into the unacceptable category?

Nope

Congress shall make no law...

Treason is specifically defined in the Constitution. Other than advocating for the violent overthrow of the government, we are free to say what we want. It is up to informed citizens to discriminate between truth and lies. If the government starts censoring the media, what happens when, in 2024 or 2030, the Democrats regain power?

Don't think it can't happen. They came back after the Civil War.

Did I say “treason”? Certainly there are existing laws that can apply to at least some of the disgusting crap the fake news does.

“Free to say what we want” has some other restraints besides advocating overthrow of the government...wait.... the Fake News has been advocating and assisting overthrow of the government albeit not by violent means...oh wait, they’ve advocated that, too. Along with their Dem pals.

I’m pretty sure we’ll do all right with some old standbys.

Tax evasion.
Sex assault.
Rape.
Blackmail.
Drugs.

You know, the Classics.

No need to tempt violating someone’s 1A rights.

I understand your caution though you put your words in my fingers. I just disagree that there's no way to deal with the problem. There's virtually always a viable way to deal with the problem--particularly with creativity and Holy Spirit's help.

I'm certainly NOT saying have the any current administration call the shots on what is true and right. HOWEVER, THAT'S WHAT WE'VE HAD ALL ALONG WITH THE CURRENT WAY THINGS ARE. SOOOOOOO WE ALREADY HAVE AND HAVE LONG HAD what you are warning against.

You’re right. But the corrupt media has done far more damage to this country than any foreign nation or enemy ever has.

If these democrats take power there’s not going to be any free speech to preserve EXCEPT on the part of the lugenpresse.
