I used to be a political junkie, but now, it has gotten so that a little is enough. So, Tuesday night, as a) I cant affect anything, and b) the nets will be wall-to-wall election coverage, including the race for dogcatcher in Upper BFE, we are going to go catch a movie.
What are you going to do?
I’m going to be holding a sign at the polls until closing time and then go home and pop open a cold one while I watch returns come in.
Just gonna go vote then go to work and then try to avoid watching returns...maybe play video games.
I will be mining salt.
Tasty, tasty salt.
No Hangover for You! (in my best Soup Nazi voice)
Vote, go to band rehearsal, try to put this whole issue out of my mind for the rest of the night, then hope for a good outcome Wednesday morning.
A lot of praying and monitoring election results on FR, hopefully all capped off by the same happy dance I did at 2:41 AM on 11/9/2016. My dogs were looking at me like I had lost my mind.
*** “Im not expecting anything as great as 2016” ***
Hope you are wrong... I’m an optimist by nature, a drunk on Election Days so I will be emotional either way it goes.
You have the right idea. I’m going to go to bed Tuesday night. Being an old fart, I’ll probably need to visit the bathroom around 3am, at which point I’ll take a quick glance at FR or Breitbart to get the summary.
Probably Breitbart, they’ll have a nice summary without having to wade through a long thread’s worth of comments.
After voting, a walk, some pushups, situps, music, sleep.
*** “Ill probably need to visit the bathroom around 3am” ***
You too?
That particular Tuesday I will still be awake and watching this https://vimeo.com/23278902
Pausing every once in awhile for a bathroom break, another beer and an update. I will be multi-tasking.
“Not to mention voter fraud, which has never been fixed.”
I predict it never will be fixed, and the Rats will find new and more nefarious ways to cheat. The really awful thing is that nobody talks about it, and nobody is doing anything to fix it. We lucked out in 2016, but that can’t work forever.
My husband loves that bourbon. Smart idea. Need to pick him up a bottle.
“follow the election here on FR and maybe on YouTube.”
The RSBN chick said they’ll be covering election results this year. Not sure how that’ll work, since they’re pretty much a fledgling operation, but it’s nice that they’re giving it a shot. We need options beyond cable.
Celebrate!
I got the secret to happiness from Dennis Prager. Low expectations. It actually increases your happiness when better results happen!
Working as the warden (person in charge) of a precinct in CD-2 in Maine
“”I will add a celebratory glass of wine to the mix if Democrats lose the House.””
I’m thinking I need to get a bottle of Baileys which I normally only buy for New Years Eve but~~~~~~!!
I’ll no doubt give in and watch some returns with my fingers crossed. Otherwise will be at the computer and reading!
Watch returns. I have a number of channels I’ll be checking, and I’ll have the laptop open to comment here and on other sites. (I keep more than one tab open.)
I loathe CNN, but their site allpolitics.com is pretty good for following returns.
So are we.
