Goslingl is a terrible actor.
But its so inclusive!
I watched the movie and it was so boring I fell asleep. I would wake up when my wife bumped me when she heard my snoring. It got so bad that a person next to us threatened to report me to the theater staff. I could imagine the police being called to escort me out of the theater. All because the movie caused me to fall asleep.
Get woke, go broke.
Apollo 13 rocks. I can’t watch it enough times.
The worst part is that it will be a generation before someone takes a shot at telling this story again. What a missed opportunity.
Al Gore, Michael Moore and the whole lot of the Hollywood crazies should all pitch in $500,000 each to support a fellow liberal commie movie producer, especially as it fits in their commie world views.
Hooray for Hollywood /SARCASM
Rewriting history fails. As it should.
Hmm, that’s somewhat odd. When I heard there was no flag scene I was already a “no” on watching the movie. Combined with the bad reviews, now I’m sure of it. The odd thing is, I went to Gosling’s IMDB page and poked around. I realized I haven’t seen any of the movies he has been in. Not one. For someone as old as me, who at least used to like going to movies that’s a little odd. Probably happen more, as I’m going to movies a lot less now - primarily because most of them are crap.
Whoever had the idea to film it with a handheld camera in reality TV mode is to blame. The jerky camera motion and many frames of blurry junk, as well as endless extreme closeups of Claire Foy’s face, ruined what could have been a good movie.
$100,000,000 to make a movie about the “space race” that denies there was a race to get to the moon.
Why didn’t they use that money to make documentaries about the surviving Apollo era NASA employees (ground and launched) instead?
Where is the globally distributed drama film about the USSR’s/CCCP’s space program?
The Right Stuff
"He chose... poorly."
It was a rotten movie. Terrible acting, way too much focus on weird, borderline psycho men, nonstop brooding, and mediocre special effects. It was like two separate movies lashed together — nonstop focus on people with a bit of the history of spaceflight thrown in. The two separate movies really didn’t connect in a meaningful sense.
I expected it to be outstanding but marred because of the missing flag scene. But it was such a stinker overall that I completely forgot about the flag omission.
Gosling should reimburse the producers.
...and rightfully so. Hahaha
When Mr RooRoo and I heard about the changing of historical facts for PC purposes, we wrote this movie off.
If you want to see an excellent and amusing (and non PC) movie about the space program in general, watch The Right Stuff. It doesnt include the moon landing but its still a great movie.
I saw it.
The portrayals of space flight were intense.
The placing of the flag was sorely missed. So were most of the other technical/scientific events on the moon.
The flag was visible in place, in later shots. So were the instruments left on the surface.
It compared moderately well with the episodes of “From the Earth to the Moon” dealing with the same events Apollo 1 fire, and Apollo 11).
