Do you use florescent bulbs in the house? The old ballasts tend to be bad RF noisy generators. If you were to replace those boobs with LED this would severely drop the lower levels, and still provide adequate lighting

The florescent bulb is in the kitchen, none in the living room.

FoodSavers are RF noisy too, particularly on the same A/C circuit.
