What’s going on at Google HQ these days? (I mean, aside from squashing conservative views in search results and figuring out what happened to that whole “don’t be evil” thing.) One report out this week indicates that the women working at the search giant are preparing to walk off the job. That seems strange for a company what was once ranked as one of the best places to work on the planet.
It turns out that there’s been some sexual harassment (if not assault) going on with at least one former executive there. And rather than take swift action to show their support for the Me Too Moment, Google decided to try to cover it up for a while and then give the guy a golden parachute on his way out the door. Needless to say, the ladies aren’t terribly thrilled about it. (Buzzfeed)
In a new email, Google CEO Sundar Pichai told employees that he supports the planned “women’s walk” to protest issues of sexual misconduct at the company.
A group of more than 200 engineers at Google are organizing a companywide womens walk walkout for later this week to protest recent revelations about the search giants protection of employees that had allegedly engaged in sexual misconduct, according to four people familiar with the situation inside Google.
The protest, which is expected to happen on Thursday, comes in light of a story by the New York Times last week into the alleged misbehavior of Android creator Andy Rubin and other executives at the company, some of whom still have positions of prominence at Google.
You know the company is between a rock and a hard place when the CEO is forced to go before the media and tell them that he supports a planned walkout that will cripple his labor force for as long as it lasts.
While it sounds like there were more people involved, the primary complaint centers on Android creator Andy Rubin. He left the company in 2014, receiving glowing reviews from former CEO Larry Page. What wasn’t publicized was that the married Android developer had been “involved” with a female employee. And the story of the involvement included phrases like “coerced oral sex in a hotel room.”
Adding more salt to the wound was the fact that while Google could have shown him the door with his pockets empty, they paid out a $90M severance package to him for all of his outstanding work. If that’s their idea of accountability for someone behaving that badly it’s no wonder the female engineers are on the warpath.
But isn’t Google supposed to filled almost entirely with liberals? You shouldn’t be able to swing a dead cat without hitting a couple of male feminists. Even before the advent of #MeToo, it was a progressive hotbed. If women were being mistreated, shouldn’t the company have been among the first to stand up in collective outrage?
You might think so, but Google apparently likes its progressivism with healthy side order of hypocrisy. But now the cat’s out of the bag and soon the women will be out the door. And given the initial reactions from their very red-faced CEO, I’m willing to bet that none of them will be docked any pay for time missed at work.
Even the most extreme ultrafeminists cannot live up to their own expectations.
Some guy looked at some chick's breasteses and it's the end of the world?
The women of Google are walking out. Guess why...
Ladies room out of order?

Theyre on their periods.
They cant code.
Math is hard.
Hope Sundar doesn't decide to fire these woman and replace them with H-2B's. Now that would be evil.
No, it’s because Google won’t put tampon dispensers in the ‘men’s’ room.
More liberal on liberal crime. Boo hoo hoo...

Make the enemy live up to their own rules. Alinsky.

I enjoy canibalism by the left.
Someone getting a bit too googly-eyed.
Virtue signaling convinces the left of its own unimpeachable morals. When push comes to shove, it rejects guilt for any of its wrongdoing and attributes such allegations to conspiracy theories.
Peter Daou, a Democratic strategist and former advisor to Hillary Clinton and John Kerry, tweeted on Monday that Ford will be "attacked, smeared, and demonized" and that people must "BELIEVE WOMEN."
A $90 MILLION severance package??????
