I’ll second all the recommendations for Howard Leight electronic ear muffs

Muffs are not for everyone. In my case, they interfered with the proper mounting of the shotgun on my shoulder and I was subconsciously adjusting my head to accommodate for them. That was noticed by a shotgun instructor I was with one day.

I had to switch to foam ear plugs........
