Why America desperately needs another baby boom

With factories now moving back to the US, and unemployment rates at historic lows, the pressure to import workers into America will only grow.
But it would be far better for the next generation of workers to be Made in America than imported from abroad. Most native-born students come to school already equipped by their own parents with the language skills and values they need to learn and succeed in America. Many immigrant children dont and, according to the Federation for American Education Reform (FAIR), they require years of expensive special instruction costing taxpayers nearly $60 billion a year.

Forgiving the student loans of those who are willing to enter into a long-term relationship (marriage) and have children might prove to be very fruitful.
But I would go even further. It seems to me that couples who are willing to raise three or more children should not just have their student loans forgiven, but should be sheltered from all federal taxes.

a legal citizen baby boom, not so much an anchor baby boom

That is a great story line for a utopian novel!
Your post about the value of Americanized children struck a nerve. I work at a school that has a 99% Hispanic student body.
IMHO there is something intrinsically thwarted in the Americanization process when your parents are illegally here. I know many sweet students, born here, who do not feel American. If you ask them, they say they are Mexican. In sports, they root for Mexico to beat the US. They dont really care to learn American history and, though in our schools all their lives, being fed two free meals a day, have no desire to know who George Washington was. They arent sure who Lincoln is. They dont try to lose their accent when speaking English. They watch mostly Spanish channel TV and know far more about Mexicos current events than ours. They simply do not consider themselves one of us in any way.
I think it is a Mexican cultural thing combined with the illegal status. Theyve begun their time here as outsiders, outside the system, and they stay that way. They raise their children to be outsiders.
Before you label me racist, my father grew up in an immigrant, Italian-speaking only, household, and my mother was a legal immigrant. She never gave up her Green Card, but she expected us to be Americans. My father who spoke only Italian at home but had no accent. Many Asian children here speak another language at home, but have unaccented English.
That punishes people that don't want kids. Kinda goes against the whole individual liberty thing, eh?
