I do not grok it. Trump stumps for particular candidates and endorses them, and criticizes others. Obviously hes not violating the Hatch Act by doing so. If someone explains, I for one will appreciate it. The Hatch Act does not apply to politicians and Political appointees. It applies only to persons in Civil Service positions. The problem is that Obama converted a whole host of his political appointees to civil service upon leaving office, sneaking political operatives into high Civil Service positions with the intent to take partisan actions from within the government. Those people ARE subject to the Hatch Act. . . but are willfully ignoring it.
