You have a point. I understand having a code for decapitation, but if they’re going to have decap by guillotine, mustn’t they have a code for every other way of being beheaded? Decap by sword, decap by rope (short drop), decap by axe, knife, or explosion. Anyone can add to the list!
Keep in mind that the drugs used for carrying out the death penalty are becoming harder and harder to come by. Some states (Utah) have re-instated firing squads, some have tuned up old Sparky. So, maybe the guillotine is the last resort?
