I have long had a strong preference for non-fiction. However, books were my only friends growing up—certainly the first 10 years—and I read more fiction then. And I like Science Fiction but not the ones that trash my values.

It is difficult for a Christian to enjoy the si-fi/fantasy/horror genre because so much of the new stuff is rather bold in it s heresies. I've thrown away more than one new book because the premise was just “wrong”

I've also read some lovely sci-if stories “leap of faith” comes to mind, where an alien race is being attacked and the only escape is to jump into an abyss not knowing if death or life awaits...
