It is difficult for a Christian to enjoy the si-fi/fantasy/horror genre because so much of the new stuff is rather bold in it s heresies. I've thrown away more than one new book because the premise was just “wrong”

I've also read some lovely sci-if stories “leap of faith” comes to mind, where an alien race is being attacked and the only escape is to jump into an abyss not knowing if death or life awaits...

Agreed. Is Orson Card the LDS bloke? Not a fan of their theology but he writes decent Sci Fi books.
