The service files of all Canadian World War 1 soldiers are available for viewing online and in the early part of the war a great many Americans joined the Canadian Army.
These files are in PDF format and contain attestation papers (i.e. sign up forms), medical records, individual movements of the soldiers, info on their next of kin and many other interesting facts.
A great deal of these records indicate that men were treated at some point during the war for VD and or, Gonorrhea, etc. My own grandfather’s records indicate that he was treated for VD twice while overseas. He was trampled by a horse in December 2016 and an operation on his wounds didn’t heal correctly. So he was convalesced in England and returned to Halifax Canada about a week before the Halifax explosion... He survived that ordeal as well.
Future leftist histories will no doubt explain that the prostitutes were the real heroes of WWII.
