It was the fantasy trilogy that garnered critical acclaim, won 17 Oscars and launched the careers of stars including Orlando Bloom and Dominic Monaghan.
And Netflix UK & Ireland have announced the iconic The Lord of the Rings trilogy will come to the streaming service on November 1.
The original trilogy - The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers and The Return of the King- based on the J.R.R Tolkien books, was released between 2001-2003.

I watched one of them. It seemed to cut off in middle of the plot. Tried watching the next installment.
Boring and TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long.
Movies should never exceed a hour and 45 minutes. Even that is iffy. Most of the extra time is filler anyway.

same here. nothing but the typical interminable CGI battle scenes, only with Orks being turned into Ork-burger instead of the usual inane super-villains being defeated by the usual inane super-heroes ...
And growing revenue and subscribers by leaps and bounds.
I don't know...all those die-hard Nicholas Cage fans are pretty devoted. :)

Interesting but can you back it up with real data?
Yes. Peter Jackson ruined the story.
He got an Oscar, though. I don’t think anyone could’ve made the story exciting for me. I much preferred David Lynch’s “Dune” for wild fantasy, though it should’ve been a whole film series.
