“Good Hearted Liberal” is someone I identify who is from the least radicalized and reality challenged part of the Left. These are people you know socially, from work, or from Church. They are often simply ill informed, or haven’t take the time to think things through. I think we can rule out these people, as most are pretty “normal” and can often be talked to....

When did you start attending my family get-togethers, 'morel?

heh, I live behind enemy lines in one of the bluest states...I HAVE to live and work with some of these folks.

I actually have one woman who I have known for years who is quite liberal, and I have had dinner with her a few times...when she asked me about various subjects (she knew I was a conservative) she actually listened to my answer, and asked questions, occasionally saying “Well...you have thought it through pretty well...” which coming from her was high praise, as she is one of the most intelligent people I know.

OTOH, I have family members who are part of the “resistance” and I know because they accidentally (I think) included me on an email distribution after the election. It has made it difficult for me after reading that, to say the least.

They don’t talk politics around me, which is fine.
