I hope you did not think I was ranting against you in any way. I was going off about Schlosser and his leftism.
The incident you heard about was most likely the one in North Carolina. We have had many accidents around the world while fighting the Cold War and especially during operation Chrome Dome, the 24/7/364 airborne alert that was a hallmark of Strategic Air Command for several years.
