One in 300 million. The odds arent great, but your chances of winning the massive Mega Millions lottery are as good as the next person. The current jackpot is estimated to be more than $1.6 billion. That is 1,600 million for those who are used to seeing smaller prizes. According to the USA Mega lottery website, the lucky winner will take home approximately $687 million after taxes if he or she opts for the cash option -- life-changing wealth by any standard. It's fun just dreaming how would you spend or invest the money if you won. The opportunities would be endless. Well, almost.
You still couldnt buy an NFL team or an NBA franchise. Those are reserved for the multi-billionaires, not somebody who has a mere $687 million. Nonetheless, you could still afford most of lifes extravagances. Once you have shared the wealth with family members and your favorite charities, you would eventually have to get down to the business of investing your windfall. Dont worry; there would be plenty advisors knocking at your door with all sorts of ideas. Help is only a 1% fee away, after all. But if you are more of DIY investor (which most likely would change with $687 million to your name), here are a few suggestions to get you started.

Yeah, that’s the scary part. I’m not sure anyone really understands the media storm they’ll be walking into if they win. The smart folks get a plan and advisory team together, decline the press conference with the big check and get a head start on disappearing after collecting the prize. The nitwits believe they can resume their normal lives when the initial hubbub dies down, and can’t believe people are still accosting them years later and demanding a handout.
You'd have to hire an attorney just to deal with the bogus paternity claims that would come in by the hundreds, not to mention the blatant shakedowns. "I'm going to tell everyone you're a child molester."Probably hundreds of those as well.
In the era of #MeToo and Christine Blasey-Ford, winner better hope he as a squeaky-clean past. "Remember that party in the 12th grade when you got really drunk? I do!"
I think most people's natural instinct is to cash in the ticket before something can happen to it; the dog eats it, the neighbor steals it. "Just get the money in the bank and we'll deal with the rest as it happens."
This amount of money is going to completely upend someone's life, unless Taylor Swift wins it. She could probably handle it.

That is because Taylor's success for herself is earned.
Uh huh! Truly.
