East Pacific cyclones are called hurricanes. Your own map shows that.

It’s the same with grasslands: Prairie, Savanna, Steppe, Pampas—same thing, different names.

So why did the castaways from Gilligan’s Island always call them typhoons? Their island was somewhere in the general vicinity of Hawaii.
