What does that mean? "To" themselves"? "By" themselves? But did real ones, to themselves? I assume that's what Anon means, so the bombs would be Real Bad Bombs. Theory does explain why the bombs were so obviously and stupidly fake. But why would CNN take one apart if they thought it was a real one?

I do like your theory - and as you noted we have reason to believe from Q that that airport bombing was a fizzle because the bomb was replaced.
I’ve seen a couple theories like this now and they would explain one thing - why + how the photos of these fake bombs were obtained & presented *without* postal markings. Because ... if it was a sting then the good guys would have had them at some point along the way - whether at the USPS or before - BEFORE - they were sent on their way. Then that would explain why they had no markings, the items were photographed before they received markings or the USPS didn’t actually process because they were part of the sting. TBD ;)
