Put yourself in their position. On election night, they get crushed in a blowout similar to 1994. The Democrat Party is no longer a viable political party. At first they are in denial.

It doesn't match the opinion polls. It doesn't match the exit polls. Something is wrong.

Then they leap to anger.

The Republicans hacked the voting machines. No, it was the Russians! That's the ticket! It was the Russians!

Then they pull out the "Revote" signs from the closets in which they have been stored since the 2000 election.

This was an illegitimate election! Revote! The Russians stole the election! Make the Supreme Court overturn it!

Once they understand that their fantasy is impossible, they take to the streets.

We can't permit an illegitimately elected Congress, President and state legislatures to meet. The people united cannot be defeated!

Then they start attacking newly elected officials and conservatives. Bombings. Antifa militias holding parts of certain cities. Terrorism. With Congress adjourned and afraid to meet outside the protection of a military base, Trump:

Invokes the Insurrection Act of 1807;
Suspends habeus corpus;
Effectively invokes martial law;
Asks military veterans to register with their local police department or county sheriff for duty;
Closes the colleges;
Starts the roundups;
Closes newspapers and shuts certain cable channels off from their satellites.

Hitler! Fascism! UN, please declare the US government illegitimate and send a world army here to depose it!

And then the military tribunals and public executions begin.
