Brittney Griner has a lot to say about the NBA's new G-League offer to top prospects.
In an Instagram post that she shared on Friday, the Phoenix Mercury center called out the new G-League contracts, which are offering $125,000 to elite prospects who are at least 18 years old but not yet eligible for the NBA draft as an alternative to the NCAA's one-and-done route.
"Must be f------ nice coming out of college getting that," Griner said in the post. "We def didn't see any money like that till we went overseas. AWAY FROM OUT FAMILIES AND LOVED ONES AND HAVE TO PLAY YEAR ROUND."

Lesbians love the WNBA
Needs to be done for football too.
Yeah, isn’t that the obvious report to Griner and the rest of them? “You and every other woman is perfectly free to get one of those contracts if you’re good enough.”
That’s a man, baby
We had a WNBA team here in Tulsa. 80% of the fans were lesbians.
She’s lucky she got anything. Who wants to buy a ticket to watch a bunch of lesbians run around on the court like mediocre male players?
Love the shorts. But bump-set-spike is really boring
The only people who watch th WNBA are families and girlfriends.....
I really doubt that. My daughter played college ball and professionally for 4 years in Europe. Her AAU team crushed the old guys in a fund raiser. Women don't play above the rim, but they are strong, fast and great shooters. But simply can't compete against elite men. I will bring a team of High School girls to play against your neighborhood guys. We play for your house. Ready?
So do you whine when LeBron gets $35 mil and the bench players get $500k?
Hint: If the G league folks were better than the kids about to get the $125k, then they would get $125k, or far more, by moving up to the NBA.
How about you sit back and let those who own the teams make the decisions about how to spend their money, and on whom, okay?
This is great. (Not for Kentucky or Duke) It gives young men a chance to make some money out of high school and a lot of them need it.
The one and done rules prevented an athelete from getting a job. It was stupid. The kids had no interest in college.
There is no market for womens basketball. Women should be paid the same anyway?
Massive difference between LeBron who has a proven ability to get a team consisting of corpses to the finals, not to mention putting butts in the seats and increasing ratings getting paid fat money and some chump out of high school that no one actually knows yet if he’s going to make the transitioning getting paid almost 4 times as much as the regular players.
These high school kids might, maybe, possibly, but not, be LeBron. Walking in with zero experience and getting paid multiples of the established pros IS an direct insult to the rank and file of the G league.
I’m not vetoing anybody’s decisions. I’m just pointing out that this decision is ill considered.
The WNBA draws a small fraction of the TV audience the NBA does. Comparing salaries in the NBA and WNBA is like comparing apples to oranges.
A female PE teacher AT my hs daughter was a great athlete. Her quote, “ I want her to play volleyball not basketball in college. Less lesbians.”
Griner should be more worried about the WNBA being taken over by transvestites. How long before the WNBA is a biologically male dominated league.
When will a guy who did not make the cut in NBA declare himself a “woman” and play in the wbna?
My V-chip is programmed to eliminate all WNBA games.
Don’t be too proud of the MLB. The Dodgers started the baseball schools back in the 50’s in the Caribbean. Today, all 30 big league teams have academies that, including the bonuses awarded to new prospects, inject an average of more than $90 million a year into the local economy, according to estimates by the MLB office in Santo Domingo. Players from the academies have included Sammy Sosa, David Ortiz, Pedro Martinez, Albert Pujols, Jose Reyes, and Melky Cabrerra. Some from Puerto Rico are Carlos Beltrán, Ramón Castro, Rubén Gotay, Javier López, Mike Lowell, Bengie and Yadier Molina. From Venezuela: Pedro Sandoval, Miguel Cabrera, Jose Altuve, Felix Hernandes, Pudge Rodriguez, .....There are more, but it is getting long.
And this is what happened to many:

You’ll notice they sign them for $33K at 16 which they can’t do in the US. They get them up to the majors, and continue to under pay them in comparison to their peers, then trade or release them of they make a stink about it. The countries are full of them. So MLB isn’t any better.

Far fewer.
I used to ref college volleyball. Many, many years ago, there was a freshman player that played for a particular college. On parents weekend, the girls parents attended the two home matches.
After the Saturday night match, the parents took their daughter out to dinner, and her dad asked why she wasnt on the travel team since she was so much better than many of the players that did. Her daughter told him that if you werent a lesbian, you werent going to be playing much or be on the travel team.
Her dad got ahold of the President on Sunday and informed him that if the coach did not resign or was not fired immediate, hed be going to the media on Monday morning. The coach was gone that night.
There was also a lesbian coach at a D-1 school in a Power 5 conference that was in the top ten, who suddenly resigned. She was involved with a player and she resigned rather than be fired. My understanding is that a big check was written to the player and her parents.
