I bought a Sears diehard battery several years ago with a 5 year warranty. It failed before 2 years. No one at any level of Sears gave a damn about the warranty. It was worthless. I have been wishing for their demise ever since. It only took 5 years! Not bad.

Hmmm. I got 10 years out of a pair of Diehards in my F250 Powerstroke. So I put 2 more in 2 years ago. So far so good.

DieHard batteries are made by Johnson Controls. They're expensive but nothing special. (There's only about three companies that make car batteries anymore in the US -- everyone else just relabels products from those three companies.)
You can get the same battery, perhaps with a lesser warranty (but maybe one which the seller will actually honor) from several retailers. Interstate is the Johnson Controls "home brand". They also make batteries relabeled for various auto parts chains, as well as Walmart, Tractor Supply, etc.

Sears had terrible customer service which probably contributed to their demise.
