Child sneaks into X-ray machine at China train station. Watch bizarre video
Hindustan Times ^ | Updated: Oct 17, 2018 18:37 IST

The incident took place at Xiaolan Railway Station on October 9 when the child was at the station with his father. The video, posted by CGTN on Twitter, shows a man going through security check and suddenly looking around him as if he were looking for someone. As he continues to look around for a few seconds you suddenly see a child emerging out of the X-ray machine. Turns out, the child had managed to sneak into the machine.

The video also goes on to show the silhouette of the child inside the machine while he sat next to luggage.

Surprising as it may be, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. Back in February this year, a woman had also climbed into an X-ray machine in Dongguan, China, all so she could protect her bag from being stolen.

My brother worked for TSA. He said some lady put her dog in its carrier on the belt and it went through the machine. He seemed to think that the dog was going to have health problems, but I don’t know how much one gets zapped going through one of those.

A child goes through an active Chinese airport x-ray machine. What could possibly go wrong? They probably use it to pop popcorn for lunch.

I assume, sounds nothing live is supposed to be in there, that the level might be pretty high.

When I was a lad, shoe stores had fluoroscopes that would show you your feet inside your shoes. It was cool. Only problem was the salesman would put his feet to show you (actually your mom) what a proper fit looked like. So while I got my feet x-rayed once every year or so, the salesman would get his feet x-rayed many times a day. Salesmen ended up getting cancer from it. Doubt if many customers did. I imagine the kid should be ok.

Whatever doesn’t kill you, just makes you stronger.

He may get superpowers if a spider was in there with him.

I saw a short black and white film a long time ago of a person walking around a room that was illuminated by x-rays. It looked like a skeleton walking around but you could see the outlines of the flesh.
The whole thing only lasted a few seconds but I wonder what happened to the subject.

Yeah, I loved getting new shoes so I could look at the x-rays of my foot bones. Very fun. Don't have to cancer about 65 years later.

We used those x-ray machines also in a local shop,

I never even gave cancer a thought.

I had a chest X-ray EVERY YEAR from Age 5 until I was 18———and here I am.

I assume, sounds nothing live is supposed to be in there, that the level might be pretty high.

According to a discussion thread on Quora, cabinet-type X-Ray scanners for security applications use a continuous beam that's not very strong, presumably because of advances in detector technology.

According to the discussion, one pass through a cabinet-type scanner delivers approximately the dosage of a chest X-Ray, about 2 millisieverts.

This is considerably less than one receives while taking a transcontinental trip on a high-flying passenger aircraft.

I used to work in industrial X-ray inspecting welds on pressure vessels. Getting “Popped” for a few seconds by one of those machines for a few seconds would give you a month’s dose of radiation. So you would process film for a few weeks . Those machines are way more powerful than the TSA’s machines.

I remember those. I was very nearsighted, and no one had noticed it yet. So when I got up there I couldn’t see nada. Probably avoided a lot of foot zaps. I wondered why all the other kids were so fascinated. I didn’t know it myself! It wasn’t until 3rd grade when a teacher noticed I was copying the cap R on the blackboard like an upside-down U (they used R for “remainder” when teaching division) that someone caught on.

Nowadays I think they are more vigilant, because I see little kids with glasses on.

Woody Allen would probably say, “I’m not going through any medical procedure where everybody else leaves the room.”

I remember that too, and yeah the show salesman I remember died too. While my mom and sisters were talking with the sales guy I was off in the corner checking out my x-ray feet....a lot more than once. Not too much later we were all surprised when the skin on the bottom of my feet peeled right off. Luckily for me only the outer layer!

I remember those shoe fluoroscopes. They even had an operating one in the local science museum after they had vanished from shoe stores.
