A white woman called the cops on a black father at his child’s soccer game — claiming he yelled at the referee, when he was actually just cheering on his son, according to local reports.
Two other women who were at the teen match in Ponte Vedro, Fla., over the weekend took videos and posted about the incident on Facebook — uploading images of the field marshal who called the police, showing her sitting in a blue golfcart with a phone to her ear and nicknaming her “Golfcart Gail.”
“A parent at my son’s soccer game had the police called on him for cheering for his son during the game,” posted Ginger Galore Williams, with the header “Soccer While Black.”
The unnamed dad had yelled “The ref is right!” when he saw his kid was frustrated by a call, but “Golfcart Gail” took offense, Williams said.
“[She] decided to spring into action and rapidly approach this parent and remind him that harassment would not be tolerated. He informed her that he was only speaking to his son,” Williams posted.
The dad offered to leave with his wife to avoid a scene, but “Golfcart Gail” informed him she was calling the cops “because she no longer felt safe with his threatening behavior,” according to Williams.
“This man was peacefully leaving his own son’s soccer game to avoid exactly this situation,” wrote Williams. “Shame on you Golfcart Gail for what you did to this man and to the children who had to see this.

Before cell phones she would have needed to get her fat ass out of the golf cart and found a phone to call the police. I seriously doubt she had that much motivation. The cell phone simply makes it easier for people like this to be a nuisance.

The woman recording the scene said the golf cart woman calls the cops on people on the team all the time and had found a way to get people kicked out of there.
Sounds like a miserable woman who is a control freak. Feel sorry for her family.
Agreed, these incidents have always happened but now everyone has a global media broadcast system in their pocket. Now all the little stupid tiffs, fights, arguments and disagreements that have happened since time began are broadcast to the world for judgement.
Now if you have a bad day and call someone a name or do something dumb, it literally goes around the globe and you are judged to the point where you can lose your livelihood and friends and family.
Not saying this woman was right, that was an asshole thing to do, but I think the price she pays will be far greater than the crime and it will last the rest of her life.
Speaking as a Grandparent going to these soccer games I wish the parents, all of them, would sit down and shut up. The constant screaming from the sidelines is counterproductive. The players have a coach to listen to they don’t need you screaming orders to them.
Blacks are not the only people who deal with crazy people...
In any of these incidents has any of the participants claimed racism? Or is that the media projecting it to sell a narrative they want to sell?

The only time I ever played golf was there. About 15 years ago. It was a corporate thing that I’ll never do again.

I kid you not, if I was dealing with that loony her cart would be disabled ASAP.
Some of these incidents are just hateful nastiness from racists and/or crazies - completely indefensible. At the same time, the “see something, say something” concept has put people (normals and law enforcement) in a quandary; it is bound to result in misunderstandings and discomfort for some innocent people. “See something, say something” only works if you’re allowed to say something without being tarred & feathered when it doesn’t pan out.
Golf.
That particular corporate thing was pretty bad too. My boss finally lost his battle with alcohol that week. He showed up 6 hours late, totally wasted and attempted to give a presentation. By the end of the day, he was unemployed. It was sad to watch.
I’m on Linked in with him and it looks like he’s OK now though.
The sauce can be real nasty to certain people. Hopefully he’s going to continue to do well.
The circles I run in tend to not have such significant self-control issues so it’s one of the few times I’ve had to witness the downward spiral. It was really sad to watch.
Te attitude of the police in tis circumstance is instructive. He views himself as a referee.
When I was a young man the police were called when a crime was committed and not when some politically correct icon was transgressed.
The woman called the police by her own admission because she did not know what the man was capable of. Nor, I daresay, did she know what any other person in her purview was capable of. Her actions were purely racist. She was acting in the role of a fascist monitor. This kind of behavior is absolutely unacceptable.

There are people like this that feel they can harass people they don’t like and get the legal system behind them.
