Texas was famous for KNOWN voter fraud for decades, and one of the beneficiaries was Elbee Jay. Nicknamed “Landside Lyndon” for winning a contest in which over 980,000 votes were cast, by 87 votes. Voter fraud was exercised by BOTH sides, so nobody came to the table with clean hands. The Prince of the Pedernales rode all the way into the White House, once he was launched, going through the House of Representatives, the Senate, where be became first Minority Leader in 1943, then Majority leader two years later, and finessed his way into the 1960 Presidential race. JFK, always the pragmatic politician, followed the dictum, “Keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer”, and named Uncle Cornpone as his VP, later making the mistake of going to Texas in 1963.
