Has anyone tried Direct Tv Now? I’m kind of leaning to that but have read some bad reviews, so am not sure.

Have had directv for quit some time now. before, during and after the att merge. I will say I think it was better before the merge. Not sure why but after att came in the caller ID log was removed. You still get caller ID but no history of calls. Sounds like a small thing but could come in very handy sometimes. directv has always been a bit pricey IMO but you can change packages anytime you like. Also, had fiber optic put in by att recently, when I mentioned to the installer I had a OTA HD antenna in my attic for when I lose signal due to weather he said I wouldn’t need it in the future because directv will be go through the phone lines soon......have yet to see that. Hope this helps.

I have DirectTvNow. I'm pretty happy with it. I have the minimum package which cost $35/mo. It has an online DVR which is very convenient.

I changed from SlingTV (Blue) to DTVN ~ 5 months ago - primarily to get FOX Business.

Although the first 2-3 months the technology was a bit lacking (at times loading channels took forever), it seems to be MUCH better the last month or so.

I do use ROKU (Premier+) which offers a LOT of free content, movies, etc.

Overall, I would recommend DTN over SlingTV.

Finally, I HIGHLY recommend using quality 4K HDMI cables - especially Silver-Plated for higher resolution and more vivid colors vs cables with copper conductors. Silver is a higher conductor than copper and a better (and faster) transmitter of digital signals.

Hope that helps...

I ditched Dish Network ($109/mo) for DTVN ($40/mo for all the channels we generally watched) several months ago. It has gotten consistently better and we are very pleased with it and the $69/mo (less taxes) we save.

I have ATT direct tv and you still pay the fee. I have package, home phone (which is not much used), internet and direct TV. I watch about 2 channels on all that... monthly fee, $115. This was for 2 years and it’s up in May.. leaving ATT then.

I have nothing but trouble from the first day.. They dug a huge ditch all the way through our subdivision to lay ATT cable. They cut in my watering line, and when I left comcast, to go to ATT, I thought I’d be connected to the box in the yard they put from the cable. But they came out with a huge dish. No one told me there would be a dish and no one told me there would be 2 separate installers for all this.

Someone ordered a disconnect and when I got my bill it was for $400+ for the disconnect and reconnect. Of course I was on the phone.. have been on the phone many times since, keeping them at what they promised. I have not been satisfied... when a heavy cloud comes over, the dish loses contact. etc and etc.

Got a call 2 days ago offering me the same for $84 and 3 yr contract. NOPE.. won’t do it. My son has ROKU and an antenna... he has comcast for internet.. and they still keep raising prices.

He also said verizon is coming out with something that will put comcast/xfinity out of business. Don’t remember what it was, but someone here must know.

SLING TV would be an excellent competitor to DirectTV Now.
