Shepard's ashes will be interred at the Washington National Cathedral following a remembrance service
It's been 20 years since Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old openly gay college student, was abducted and killed in Wyoming.
On Oct. 26, he will finally be laid to rest. Shepard's ashes will be interred at the Washington National Cathedral after a service to celebrate and remember his life.
Shepard's parents picked the Cathedral as his final resting place because he loved the Episcopal Church and felt welcomed at one he attended in Wyoming.

The strong evidence that came out after his death that he died in a drug deal gone bad will not be allowed to get in the way of the narrative that Shepard is a martyr to "gay rights."
It wasn't. But wasn't it quite awhile before we knew that?
In any case, it was the "hate crime" aspect that made Shepard a cause for action... so to tell the truth would be to admit that much of the "gay rights" (I guess now "LGBT rights") movement is based on a lie.
What qualifications did he have to be buried in any Church, much less the Episcopal National Cathedral? He was killed before the Episcopalians caved to the sodomite agenda. But even with that said. What qualifications did he have for this honor. Not a damn one. He was also not murdered because of his sodomite lifestyle. Like others have said, it was drug deal gone bad and his pervert boyfriend killed him.

How about a little truth here. He was not killed as part of a hate crime. It was simply a drug deal gone bad. That he happened to be a homosexual didn’t save or kill him. Drugs did.
