There were aboriginal peoples in NA and SA. They were not keen on migration or conquering (nation-building).

I haven't researched those issues significantly. Clearly some families/tribes moved significant distances (probably in starts and stops of periods of migration interspersed between long periods of none) for that pattern of DNA to reach from the Arctic to the tip of South America within a surprisingly short time (100's of years, IIRC).

I think the conflicts between tribes were more of a raiding sort vs a conquest sort on average. There may well have been isolated cases of conquest or genocide but I don't know about that.
