The western incursion, to my knowledge, was limited to “maybe” Tibet. The Caucasians held strong in the North so Ghengis headed to China, defeated the Great Wall but couldn’t get past the Himalayas.

I have a faint and maybe flawed memory trace that he encroached on the Balkins and maybe intruded a bit into them. I think he encroached on Turkey, too. I don’t recall about Iran and Afghanistan. It was a huge area, anyway.
