I agree with much of your post. Particularly Devo and Kraftwerk.

Joy Division was a nice dance band, but short lived and not really an influence outside Manchester.

But ... Radiohead is like The Pixies or Violent Femmes....GenX or younger ....throw em a bone...I only know their two hits

Gotta disagree here. I'm 58 and am convinced Radiohead is, by far, the best band of our era. It isn't even close.

MC5 had a pivotal song “Kick Out the Jams” which for some reason is considered to be groundbreaking and thought to have influenced other artists, or something.

It’s a good song. “A” good song, as in one good song. It’s all they had.

Apparently Stevie Nicks toured with Tom Petty and would come out to sing that one song with him and then would go sit down offstage.
