Kavanaugh: What Have We Learned?
Jim Treacher
So, Brett Kavanaugh is our next Supreme Court justice. It’s all over now. What have we learned from the events of the past month?
Speaking only for myself, this debacle has done nothing to change my mind about our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in the media and the Democratic Party. (And yes, I realize those two things are the same thing.) Here are just a few of my biases that have been confirmed by this whole mess. If you don’t know, now ya know:
1. Most of the media is actively working for the Democrats.
If I had any doubt about this, it was completely erased by the events of the past month. The only way any of it makes sense is if the press is eagerly doing the will of the Democrats.
Are the Dems accusing a Supreme Court nominee of sexual assault, and even gang rape? Well then, the press will proceed under that assumption. They already know the accused is guilty, no matter how insane the accusation, so they’ll dig up facts to match the theory. And if they can’t find facts? Any facts at all? Well then, they’ll just weave together rumor and conjecture until they hit their word count.
They’re team players, and if you don’t like their outright dishonesty, that’s what you get for refusing to join them. They’re better than us, which is why they’re so baffled that we don’t trust them.
2. The Democrats have no ideas, no principles, just tactics.
If you were under the misapprehension that the Dems were acting on principle, they were more than happy to shatter that illusion. Over and over, at every turn, they insisted that their treatment of Brett Kavanaugh was no different than what those evil Republicans did to Merrick Garland.
Even if you agree with that and in order to make the comparison, you would have to quote a single Republican who ever accused Garland of organizing gang rapes it’s pretty stupid to admit that you’re trying to destroy an innocent man’s life for nothing more than revenge. The Dems wanted payback, and they didn’t care how they got it. They didn’t stop for one second to consider the ramifications of what they were doing. They were unmoored by principle and heedless of scruple. Attack, attack, attack.

The Standard of Evidence Is Whatever the Democrats Say It Is
3. Dems are angry, vindictive, and violent.
Republicans are getting death threats, and now they’re even getting ricin in the mail. They’re being doxed. Dems are screaming at them in elevators and hounding them whenever they go out in public.
All these intimidation tactics are happening barely a year after a Bernie Bro tried to assassinate Republicans at baseball practice and almost murdered Steve Scalise.
The Democrats cheer on this behavior, and the media makes excuses for it. Brett Kavanaugh’s anger at being falsely accused is bad, and his opponents’ anger at their inability to prove the accusations is good. It’s as simple at that, in their minds.
4. The more loudly the Democrats claim to care about victims, the less they actually do.
Christine Blasey Ford is obviously a troubled woman. I believe she believes what she’s saying, even if she’s unable or unwilling to offer any proof whatsoever. She obviously has severe mental and emotional problems. Which is why it’s sad to watch the Democrats exploit her pain, and the pain of a lot of other women, for political purposes. If the Dems really cared about victims, they wouldn’t use these women and then throw them away.
Right now I’m politically homeless. I don’t like or trust the Republicans any more than the Democrats. But if the Dems wanted to woo a RINO cuck NeverTrump traitor like me, they screwed up for the last time. I will never vote for another Democrat as long as I live. Not after seeing how they smeared the name of an innocent man because they saw him as a threat to their power. The Republicans were the only ones fighting for American principles here. If I’m ever tempted to vote Dem, I’ll just remember what they did to Brett Kavanaugh. I’ll remember how they exploited victims of sexual assault for the basest of political purposes.
I’m not going to gloat over Kavanaugh’s confirmation*, but it’s a relief. It’s a major victory in the war for the truth. I’m glad that the Dems and their enablers didn’t get away with their repulsive, dishonest behavior this time, but I don’t look forward to seeing what they do next. They’ve all lost their minds, and the more their tactics backfire, the more reckless they become. I have no idea what’s next, but we all know it ain’t gonna be pretty.
It’s going to be amazing to watch the 180-degree turn when Amy Coney Barrett is nominated. Then we’ll see how much the Democrats really respect women.
*much...
Elections have consequences.
Lefties, Why do you think we voted for Trump????? He’s doing EXACTLY what we hired him to do. Don’t like it? Move to Venezuela or Cuba.
ARMED combat. :-)
Mark has changed his thinking on Trump. People complain that Mark is too angry, but he has a lot to be angry with.
He used to post on FR during the Whitewater years. He was driven off or left at some point. I Listen to him in the evenings sometimes. He knows the law and the history surrounding the law. If you dont want to listen dont, but he can be trusted.
Now, do I need to back away from those claws?
I was a big fan of his. I think mostly I felt betrayed when he was so outspoken against Trump. We could have used his support.
One day I just changed the channel. Perhaps I should revisit him, heaven knows I myself have been in error plenty :)

Thanks for the perspective, SP.
It’s nice to know that we aren’t a mob mentality and can look at thinks from both sides.
what the Democrats are gunning for is what every tyrant in all of human history has appropriated-the privilege of “conviction by accusation”
There is no other way around the US Constitution and rule of law.
They have played their hand-and at best should be offered residence overseas where such remains the rule of law.
I have always thought God, family, country. He offered to be there Trump said no and the nasty Murkowski did a kind thing for a change. Weddings are planned months to a year ahead. Who would have thought crybaby Dems would have delayed confirmation so long.
I see Bill is wearing the traditional German lederhosen. And Hil is wearing the traditional German horse blanket.
>> I also (personally) believe he leveraged or at least tried to leverage his Kavanaugh vote for some sort of deal (either no prosecution or less prosecution).
That might explain the Q post of 53-47. A message? A head fake?
No deals.
We have known this for decades.
Wow, those people really are certifiably dumb! Not one seems to be able to think for themselves. Pathetic.
Holy cow!
Save that vid!
Maybe that’s what q means when he/they said [archive].
Q said in his/their post [archive].
Save that vid!
Amen.
Did not Issa stand down after being indicted by the illegal alien AG of California, Becerra? Did I not read he is coming to the Administration as well?
