My sister was LDS. When she passed away her husband had a memorial service in the LDS church community hall, mostly different people getting up and talking about her- that was fine and it was nice, but she was a very dedicated person to her faith and I was expecting more of a service. Nope. Then at the end it was announced the time of her- whatever they called it was going to be the next morning in the Temple. Then it dawned on me the memorial we went to was for people she worked with and others that were not LDS. They had what they considered to be her “real” service the next morning. Strange and hurtful feeling to feel left out of your sister’s funeral.

This is not correct. Mormon funerals are not held at a temple, and anyone can attend.
