Lindsay Graham: If the Senate rejects Kavanaugh, renominate him and let the 'ballot box' decide

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., advised President Trump to renominate Brett Kavanaugh as his pick to replace Anthony Kennedy on the Supreme Court if his confirmation crumbles in the Senate under a wave of sexual assault allegations.

Part two of this strategy would be to wait until the 2018 midterm elections to play out as a de facto referendum, particularly in "Trump states."

"Here's what I would tell the president, I would appeal the verdict of the Senate to the ballot box," Graham told host Sean Hannity in an interview Monday evening. Remembering lives lost: Four NASA disasters Watch Full Screen to Skip Ads

"This way the American people will have the last say, he emphasized," adding, "I’d ask voters in Indiana and Missouri and North Dakota and other places where Trump won saying who he would nominate if he got to be president and see if voters want to appeal the verdict of their senator."

Senator Graham, nice that you’re late to the party, but America has already given its electoral approval for Judge Kavanagh with the 2016 presidential election…

End this ridiculous farce now! McConnell should censure Flake — the man (loose term) should recuse himself at least by voting present for confirmation..

McConnell has lots of things he can do to Collins and Cowski if he is willing to use them. Remove them from committees hurt their goodies in the spending bills, withhold campaign funds and fund a primary challenge with Trump coming into campaign for the challenger assuring their loss one way or the other. If Republican senate gains are substantial and polling suggest they are going to be next month, these two had better play nice or be regulated to near nothing status in the Party and senate. IF-—IF McConnell has the guts to do what needs to be done.

If McConnell doesn’t allow a vote on Kavanaugh, it would be catastrophic. Even if the vote fails, GOP voters will be incentivized to vote.

I like that idea. In fact I have been dreaming it. We just need to break the 3-RINO gap and we can tell the Dims and Collins et all to jump in a lake, skip hearings, and vote Kavanaugh in.
