There’s room for immigrants in our military. I call it a pathway to citizenship.

We should let zero immigrants in until we deport every last illegal and visa over-stayer out.

DACA are still illegal aliens.
It is illegal for illegal aliens to enlist.
We should not be giving waivers based on the illegal DACA program started illegally by an illegal President for illegal aliens.

My uncle and my mother were born in Canada. During WWII, my uncle enlisted. Because they didn’t have an official entry date for him, the story goes that they took my uncle to Niagara Falls, had him walk across the bridge to the Canadian side, then walk back to the U.S. so he’d have an entry date. Never did find out if he ever became a citizen. He and his wife lived in California for many years, and only came back in 1962 or 63, when he got sick and ended up in the VA Hospital in Batavia, NY where he died in 1964. He was only 48 when he died. I was a junior in high school.

“and security threats were slipping through the system”

Think one of them named Nidal Hasan is still processing oxygen after being the first commissioned officer that I’ve ever heard of mass murdering other American soldiers.

Sorta makes the case, doesn’t it?
