I think it is interesting to contrast what happened then and now. These people are now Trump supporters.

They are militant and they are for Trump.

The problem is that if Manchin feels he may lose, then he will vote with his party on kavenaugh as a final FU. Keep will only vote for kav if he feels it will help him win.

Good thing he’ll have to make that decision/vote BEFORE the midterms :-)

We attended a Trump rally in West Palm Beach in October, 2016. It was the most fun we’d had in years, and as you said, so good for the soul!! The ability to scream at the top of our lungs, “Lock her Up!!!” and “USA! USA!”, 10,000 strong, was cleansing. We took a selfie of ourselves with the huge TRUMP banner behind us and had a mug made with it. Oh, I hope he comes back here again.

Manchin read th tea leaves a while ago.. he probably is the most likely of the red state Dems to survive... but end of the day he’ll likely lose..

Especially if he goes no on Kavanaugh

His strategy is the same as many votes in the past goes. If K is going to win the Senate vote, there is really no sense in voting no, since his vote won't matter. That is a very easy decision to make, so he will vote yes.

Otherwise, he will vote no and see where the chips fall on election day.

Happened to talk to a small grocery store owner in Wheeling.

He told me while a July youth baseball tourney brings him a nice bounce in customers, this MAGA rally puts those numbers to shame.

Anytime a town of 28,000 attracts a crowd of around 6,000 people, you’re talking A Big Deal.

As someone else pointed out, the Wheeling area has had strong unions for years. RINOs like Kasich and DEMs like Obama opened the door for Mr. Trump, and he’s blown right through it.

After he got involved in firearms legislation as his first action as a senator he’s dead to lots of West Virginians. Add that his daughter jacked up the price of EpiPens and many want Joe to go.

I guess the left has been unhinged forever.

I was in the Carpenter Union in 1980 and they really went crazy the day after Reagan was elected.
The Union leadership stopped pushing their militancy once they found out how many members voted for Reagan.

How did they find out how many voted for Reagan?

Just curious...as, it would seem members tend to be tight lipped, about voting for the ‘opposition’, to their bosses. Kneecaps, and all.
