What's going on with the MI GOP? Mike Bishop, Bill Schuette and John James are trailing.

Michigan Freepers.....I have been looking at some of the polling lately in Michigan, it shows suburban Rep. Mike Bishop, MI GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Schuette and MI GOP Senate candidate John James losing to their Democratic rivals.

Michigan a battleground state has a lot of Independents. A lot of them voted for Trump-Pence. Are they the apathetic, apolitical types that were inspired by Trump's message but are apathetic or indifferent to regular, traditional politics as usual.

Is Trump's coattails able to help the MI GOP, or is it suburban white women lashing out on the MI GOP and other Midwestern Republicans?

I live in a fairly conservative, mostly rural area outside of Kzoo. People here will be voting for Upton (while holding our noses), James, and Schuette. I can’t speak for the rest of the state, but I never trust polls and nobody else should either.

With that said, I have seen very few ads from James or Schuette on local TV, while the Dem ads are on all the time. That could influence the polling, but I hope that the GOP starts running ads soon.

Do conservatives watch television anymore?

I don’t.

You are in a demographic group that doesn’t exist in their mind.

Like Wisconsin, now that the Repubs have gotten the state’s economy in a solid footing, voters feel safe to elect dems.

In the 2016 senate race, Ron Johnson was 8 points behind his challenger in almost all the polls leading up to the vote. He won handily. I can only think that the polls are way off in Wisconsin. We will know this time by watching Scott Walker. Frankly, I think Walker will win handily. As far as I can see, he is still very popular and has won the past three races. But he is losing now by almost 5 points vs. a nobody.

Are there no suburban white men?

Apparently they have transitioned, so there is a larger population of suburban white women.

One problem I see is that John James has distanced himself from President Trump since he received the Republican nomination. If you look at his tweets and speeches, he never mentions Trump anymore (after embracing him before the primaries). I feel this is a mistake...he risks being seen as as a standard milquetoast Republican and will find it hard to attract the “Reagan and Trump Democrats” which are ample in Michigan.

State MIGOP Chairman stated the MIGOP is Not going to financially support James, Schuette, or Mary Treder Lang for Secretary of state. I say this as a former State Committee Member, current Delegate, and highly active right wing political nut. It’s not looking good.

Michigan SWW voted for Trump. And the rats are Hillary-izing themselves at fast as they can.

Could be they're saving them for the several weeks before the actual election date. They cost money
