I say that largely because EVERY study ever comparing licensed practitioners with unlicensed--there was NO SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCE IN QUALITY AND SAFETY OF SERVICE DELIVERED TO THE CLIENTS.

Yet licensing is touted as 100% essential for the SAFETY of the consumer. But it does NOT WORK for that. Just as many licensed professionals were corrupt, sexually dangerous etc. as unlicensed.

Did that study include brain and cardiac surgeons?

How about implant dentists? I assure there is a world of difference in the average dentist suddenly deciding to call himself an implant dentist because he was shown how to insert a single screw based tooth implant in a weekend seminar, and a board certified Dental Implantologist who knows upwards of forty different forms of dental implants and is trained and qualified to implant all of them, depending on the requirements of the situation.

There is a REASON for licensing health practitioners. . . otherwise just anyone could hang out a shingle and call themselves whatever they claim and start practicing and charging the public for quackery.

Did you know there are failed dentists who are now performing plastic surgery? They are not qualified to do it, and failed at what they WERE trained in, but they are doing something they were not because they can charge less than licensed professionals who ARE trained to do it.
