I have been posting about Grassley's ineptitude for a few days now, and yesterday I said the K nomination was dead. I followed all the jubilation on this thread last night and told my son to wait, especially for Flake.
IMO today Grassley killed the K nomination for good. We are up against evil incarnate but the pubbies are playing like the good guys. Flake is furious that he couldn't be the BMOC in the GOP so now he is hoping he is signing the death warrant of the GOP.
I do hope that out of all this betrayal we can form a party that will represent us.
I have posted, and written the WH, to respond to a Kavanaugh failure with a recess appointment of the most conservative judge in the country (2 years). Fight these barbarians with fire! Can we just stop kissing their feet?!

I agree with all that you say except one thing. I think a recess appointment expires at the end of each Congress. This Congress expires January 2019. An appointment would last only 3 or 4 months.
A recess appointment made in the next Congress would last until January 2021. But if we pick up seats, why would we make a recess appointment? I’d appoint Kavanaugh and tell the Dems to suck it. If we lose seats, then we won’t get anyone, and there won’t be a recess to make appointments in.
