[Snip] Captain Marvel could be another $1 billion+ worldwide grosser. However, thats not remotely a guarantee at this premature juncture. It may not even match the domestic ($413 million) and worldwide ($821m) totals of Wonder Woman. Unless Marvel and Walt Disney went uncharacteristically over budget, it wont have to. Should Captain Marvel find itself on the defensive when it only earns about what Ant-Man and the Wasp ($621m) pulled in?
Wonder Woman benefited from rave reviews and a narrative of Gal Gadots female superhero saving the DCEU after the critically-slammed Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad. It offered a solo female director (Patty Jenkins) showing that women could make mega-budget action blockbusters that were at least as good as the male-directed competition. It had the good fortune to open after the relatively underwhelming King Arthur, Alien: Covenant and Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and before the relatively underwhelming The Mummy, Cars 3 and Transformers: The Last Knight. It slew all relevant competition right up until Illuminations Despicable Me 3 and Marvel and Sonys Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Captain Marvel will have to contend with potentially heavier competition. No, I dont think The LEGO Movie 2 or X-Men: Dark Phoenix will pull a Black Panther and steamroll the competition well into April. The Brie Larson superhero flick opens right between DreamWorks Animations How to Train Your Dragon 3 and Jordan Peeles Us while having just three weeks before Walt Disneys own Tim Burton-directed Dumbo movie. It has a month before DC Films Shazam, but a month should be enough time to foretell the films fate. Point being, if the February and March flicks are good then Captain Marvel becomes less of an event.

Wild Wild West for my reality fix.
When I saw this was about Captain Marvel I figured it was that comefy film called Shazam.
Marvel’s own Captain Marcel of the 60s was a he and in the early 70s they created Ms. Marvel.
Marvel has been SJW converged.
That entire corporation is in the process of dying now.
That is what SJW convergence does to any org.
Another pompous feminist sermon ...
...and hold on to your hats...the new ‘Ms. Marvel’ is a teenage Muslim girl
Depends.
Captain Marvel is a he in DC, and is known as Shazam. A 12 year old boy in an almost indestructible grown up magic body.
Captain Marvel is a she in Marvel Comics and is known as Ms. Marvel, as well. She’s a mix of Human and Kree (blue aliens).
This was the first Marvel trailer that made the movie look boring. Brie Larson lacks any charisma, in the trailer and in Kong. I’m trying to stay open about it, but I know at some point Marvel’s SJWness will eventually take over. I’m hoping this movie is not the MCU’s “Last Jedi”.
Katee would have been a good choice.
I still want to know where Wonder Woman kept her shield.
One scene its there...the next its gone.
Other that that, I liked the movie.
If you want to see the original Captain Marvel here it is on Youtube from 1941. I watched this last year and it was great, yes corny at times, but still pretty good.

Billy Batson was a disabled News Paper Boy, the story has been changed, and appears to be more of a comedy. I remember the comics of the 40’s and the serials in the movies. They should stick to the original classic version like the 1st new Capt America did with the red skull. (Not the 1940’s 0ne)

Enjoy your nightmares!
I’ve been anxiously looking forward to not watching this.
Wonder Woman was not a blockbuster. Not compared to actual blockbuster movies.
Well when the movies get done with the sjw bs after losing their shirts, may e they will start making good movies with good stories and characters again.
No women in combat. No faggots in the military, no mentally ill men who think they are women in public bathrooms.
No.
