In Pedowood, you can be both. A guy like that might need a beard.
I thought rehashing Magnum was a bad idea. Selleck was perfect for that role, and played it so all the guys liked him and the gals wanted to do him. His sidekicks were funny and provided contrast.
How do you pull that off in the age of MeToo and SoyBoys?
True story here, about Selleck. My friend, who is also a girl on the fringes of being successful, and an agent worked in the Seattle area where Mr Selleck was to come up and do a promo, or shoot some scenes, I cannot remember.
She was a Tom Selleck fanatic, and was constantly trying to meet him. She gave up after some of the people within that “entertainment community” told her one day that he was off in a small fishing boat, and had taken some young men who were part of the “Big Brother” program. They implied strongly that he was molesting them, and it turned her off from him.
For the past 30+ years I have failed to dissuade her from the fact that they were likely haters of his because of his masculinity, and his conservative values which he strongly espoused. In short, they hated him as strongly as antifa hates President Trump.
I never believed the slant that was put on the story, and ended up with a signed Tiger hat that he left for his “former fan”. I sure wish I wouldn’t have worn it out now.
I am still a Magnum/Tom Selleck fan, and will continue to be. The so called LEFT is simply evil.
The other thing about the original is it finally showed Vietnam vets as normal people, not sick or screwed up.
