Do not dismiss out of hand these accusations. There are reasons to disbelieve them from the start because of the timing and the fact they went to this lawyer instead of a legitimate news source or political party. But......the timing couldn’t be worse, coming as it will immediately before the Ford hearing. Kav has debunked both Ford and Ramirez’ accounts. The fact they have been debunked will be lost in the sensation of the new ones. Additionally, the fact of the new ones will add credence, in some minds, to the debunked accounts.
It will cause delay. We must decide now, so a replacement can be nominated and confirmed before Jan.
Do you honestly believe that anyone .. anyone .. nominated by President Trump is going to get anything less of a firestorm welcome as did Judge Kavanaugh?
It's just a matter of changing names and places; accusers will be coming out of the woodwork, especially since it will have been proven that the Republicans can be intimidated by such accusations.
Why? A delay is only if GOPe Senators Collins & Murkowski get panicked, otherwise GOP has the votes to pass Kavanaugh?
You forget the James Carville statement from the time of Bill Clinton's "Bimbo Eruption" in 2008; "Drag a $100 bill through a trailer camp and there's no telling what you will find." Avenatti and the DNC are ACTIVELY RECRUITING such bimbo responses and, if successful with zotting Judge Kavanaugh, would repeat it with ANY non-LEFT Supreme Court nominee! Surrendering to this vaporware accusation would be disastrous and without any possible benefit for the future.
